I popped up out of bed today like a pop tart and started my day with a good amount of energy. After I brushed my teeth and washed my face, I put the gel eye-pads under my eyes and hopped on my air walk trainer with more pep in my step and changed up my music playlist. This new playlist helped me last 13 minutes. And then I realized. HOLY SAFFRON! I was wearing the wrong sneakers.
Let me explain. Prior to the plantar fascia issue and issues with my toes, I NEVER really had issues with my feet. After those problems came up, I’ve been wearing Orthotics recommended by my podiatrist. Initially they were a bit uncomfortable, but after a few weeks, I felt the support big time. These Orthotics have been a game changer in terms of comfort and how far I can walk as opposed to when I wear sneakers without them. However, having to take them out and insert them in the different sneakers I wear is honestly an extra step I don’t take anymore. They get stuck and I haven’t had the strength to even do that. Now that I have a little more strength, I don’t do it out of sheer laziness I’m not gonna lie.
How did I not notice I wasn’t wearing the proper sneakers? Wearing the proper footwear is of utmost importance for me and really anyone, depending on what you’re doing. Maybe my forgetfulness is the perimenopause? Perhaps. Poor sleep? Subluxation? Or is it that I’m getting early Alzheimer’s? Alzheimer’s is something I worry about since My dad had it and it started with forgetting the little things. The CDC states that lack of activity can lead to a bit of cognitive decline. However, for now I cannot panic myself over that. Right now, I need to focus on my exercising, which studies show can help with brain fog, since physical activity increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain. It can also help boost energy levels. Something I also struggle with almost on a daily basis.

In the afternoon, I tried my luck again with a few different songs and made it to 14 minutes on the air walk trainer. I gave myself kudos and a pat on the back on a job well done.
A few hours later though I wanted to do more but my energy levels dropped and the pain in my joints set in. So I decided to just walk for 20 minutes instead of trying to attempt a DDPY Chair Force workout. Am I disappointed? I was, but doing more would be greedy on my part since it’s only been 2 weeks since I started again. I’m doing the best I can right now for body and that’s the most important part.
