After feeling super sad for missing out on hanging out with my friends who I haven’t seen since last year, I woke up determined to put that behind me and not give up on my daily workout routine no matter what.
Today I did 15 minutes on the air walker, then moved on to DDPY Bed Flex III for 18 minutes. My right arm was bit more stiff than usual today, so I modified the touchdown and diamond cutter movements, and finished the workout.
Afterward however, I noticed my arm was really stiff and painful to the point where I cannot lift it laterally again. All this is soo deflating considering how careful I have been in not overdoing anything as far as the exercise and certainly not lifting anything heavy for now. Even typing right now my right arm is tired and sore.
Tomorrow I was hoping to move on to DDPY Chair Force, but it looks like I will have to push that back a bit. For now, I am going back to my books to see what stretching exercises I can do for this shoulder impingement to get rid of that pain.
At times like this is when your patience is put to the test. I can curse and scream but that won’t help me. I can throw things and punch the wall, but that definitely won’t help me and may injure me in the process. So, what do you do when your body isn’t keeping up with what your mental demands, or is just taking too long to heal?
Think about what you would tell your friend who has just told you all of this. You would give them comforting words and encouragement, right? Of course you would. Now look in the mirror and tell yourself what you would say to your friend or family member. This is exactly what I did and while after first I said, “this is horsesh*t”, I said it few more times to the point where I calmed down and said to my reflection in the mirror…”I’m doing my best and I’ve come a long way since last year in healing my body.
In the afternoon I went for quick walk and got some steps in. I’d say all in all, this is another win in my book as far as being active.
