Fitness Progress Check-In Day 15

Last night, I was super eager to see how my body would feel after all the exercise I did yesterday. I did wake up a bit tired, and a few spots were sore, my abs, my bum, my triceps, my hamstrings, my back…LOL…hell, my entire body felt a little sore. Emphasis on just a LITTLE. I did a little mental happy dance because that meant I could go at it again today. I was a bit sleepy, but a bit of icy water to wash my face was just what the doctor ordered. I was awake and got on the air walk trainer for 15 minutes only since I didn’t want to push myself right from the start and then plopped in my chair in time for the 8:30am Transcendental Meditation session.

Around noon I was feeling as if I took a sleeping pill or drank a bottle of wine. Super groggy and just wanted to take a power nap, so I went straight to what’s worked before but I stopped having time for: Another meditation session. This definitely perked me up where I was not hunching over my laptop working, but singing (out of tune) to some good ole 80s hits.

After work, I hit the glider for a surprising, but satisfying 21 minutes took a 10 minute rest and attempted a 10 minute tight abs and core from former WWE wrestler, Trish Stratus’ yoga workout DVD. As soon as I started I had to give up as I did not have the ability to lift my leg or hold a plank. So I looked at the other workouts I have done before and tried the glutes and legs program for 10 minutes. The deep squats were harsh and I had to ease up. I completely skipped crow pose and by the time I slowly shifted myself into a half pigeon pose, the 5 count was over but I tried and laughed at myself since my tongue was hanging out from exhaustion. 10 minutes may not seem like a lot but it is!

I am truly over the moon of the last two days of the exercised I’m finally able to do again that I have not done in over a year. Until tomorrow!! Time to put a heating pad to my stomach and get some well deserved rest.
