Day 38. Wow, feels good to see the check in days keep going up!! Today was a bit more of a positive day for me. I woke up raring to go and this energy level pretty much stayed the same until before dinner when I was starting to fade since I skipped lunch.
I got up nice and early to get my routine going so that I could fit in a quick workout and shower before my Dr’s appointment before work. Today I did two workouts from Trish Stratus’ yoga DVD, the “lean legs and glutes”, and the “sculpted shoulders and calves” workouts which were 10 minutes a piece. the NSV’s today? I was able to do calf raises with my weak toes and I was able to hold Warrior 2 pose strong and straight!!! I was striving for another 10 minute workout for my abs from her DVD, but my body was signaling it was done for the day so I finished and did some stretches for another 5 minutes.
All in all not a bad day. I then went for my follow up appointment at my primary Dr and happy to say that all my labs were good. No underlying issues that came up aside from slightly low levels of vitamin D so, I am thrilled. I did thank him since he gave me the greenlight to workout, and gave me a nice list of high fiber foods I can eat, which have helped get things going a bit. He couldn’t have been a more patient, kinder doctor. He answered all of my questions in detail and offered help in the form of that list and a referral for a new gastroenterologist and most importantly? HE LISTENED. Not once did he discount me or cut me off and send me on my way. A huge difference from others I have seen in the past.
While I have gotten better, I do still have issues with my bladder and bowels the more I exercise, so my next appointment with a new Gyno will be the one to confirm if I do have tightness in my pelvic floor and if physical therapy for that is the way to go.
For now, I am in good spirits today. I was able to accomplish a lot and have energy to spare even now…I feel like I can go at least 20 minutes on the glider! However, if I have learned anything is that patience is a virtue and the way I’ve been doing things…slowly building my strength and endurance instead of going hard, is what will get my the results I yearn to see and feel.
Day 38 is a win!!! Until tomorrow my Phoenixes. Keep going. You got this!!
