Again today, I woke up in good spirits, raring to go and then as the day went on, I was slowly diving into worry mode over a few things that we all worry about from time to time. Monthly bills, groceries, hospital and doctor’s bill yet to come in, things around the house you need to buy that you’ve run out of or are now broken etc…Soo while I had a lot of energy, it was being zapped by some negativity, and worry. After talking to my big brother for a bit, my worries were calmed a little (he can be a great listener unless he’s watching English Premier League lol) and I proceeded with my work.
As the day progressed, while I wasn’t tired, my body honestly felt listless. The sheer thought of not working out today, however, did not feel like an option. Even though my body kept saying NO NO NO, my mind kept screaming GO GO GO! So, I did! I got on the glider for 15 minutes and then I got on the mat and did DDPY Energy 2.0. During the workout, my body felt a bit heavy, so I took it easy with heavy modifications for a few of the movements so that I could keep proper form and complete the workout. Funny enough, when it was time to go into cannonball position (which signals the end of the workout), I was surprised it was over since I still had a little bit more gas in the tank.
Once you’re done with your workout, an awesome thing on the DDPYoga app is you get a chance to spin the wheel to get points. Once you reach 100,000 you get a prize. Today was the day I reached over 100,000 points which means that I now get my second 100K club T-Shirt!!!! A lovely T-Shirt which is a reminder that you worked your buns off to get those points!

This time, it took me 5 years to get to 100,000 again but looking at the past workouts, it shows me how far I’ve come since the end of 2023. All the workouts and exercises I have done thus far since mid May, has made a difference and I am freaking over the moon about it!
Each day you get up, is a new opportunity to make the day better than yesterday or to just enjoy what life has to offer, or practice gratitude for what you have in life, or celebrate that your pain isn’t as bad as yesterday etc…It hasn’t been an easy road by any means, and I know there are more bumps ahead in this road of life, but through all of this right now, I am learning more about my body, and realizing that the latest string of injuries, incidents, mishaps, had a lesson or two for me to learn. These things showed me that things happen for a reason and sometimes, that reason doesn’t reveal itself till much later. For instance, yesterday I realized after going to a follow up with my new primary doctor, that the recent issues with my bladder/stomach forced me to look really search again and search hard to find a new PCP after the doctors in the ER stated I needed to do so to make sure everything was okay. He turned out to be a gem of a doctor as well as his staff that, as I mentioned yesterday, care and most importantly…Listened. Another reason was that I am learning more about my body and the signs that I missed. (more on this in a future post which will be titled, “The Importance of Staying Active“)
I am grateful that my body, in regard to working out again, has been responding well and that I have stuck to a routine of slowly building on what I can do. The road to health is getting brighter!
Until tomorrow my Phoenixes. YOU GOT THIS!!! Keep Going!!
