Fitness Check In: Day 29

Waking up these days has been tough. My body has just been dragging lately, making it hard to get up on that glider after brushing my teeth and washing my face. Not only that, I am as Cher would say from the movie Clueless, “riding the crimson wave” for the past 3 days, so the exhaustion is double.  Add the heat to this, and it’s been even harder to get going.

I will say that Gatorade while it does have citric acid which is a no no for gastritis, does not bother my stomach and right now, it has helped me keep my electrolytes in balance and gotten rid of the dizziness I was feeling since my trip to the ER last week where I was pretty dehydrated.  My beautiful little bottle of frost was just what I need to perk me up and help me get back on the mat to do Mayo Clinic Wellness Solutions for Back Pain. They have a perfect 40 yoga minute session led by Rodney Yee which gently stretched out my tight back muscles.  The pain had gotten soo bad I could barely bend, so today’s session really helped.  Today, to my surprise, I was also able to do downdog for a count of 5 breaths without the use of the yoga blocks!!!! A TOTAL WIN!!!!!

I felt super relieved afterward to not only see myself very slowly become a bit stronger each time, but the yoga session, got a few of the knots out which helped the pain I’ve been feeling for a while. All I could imagine was more days of pure yoga bliss to come in the future weeks and months.

Day 29 in the books. Can’t wait for tomorrow to get back on that MAT!!!! Carpe Diem my little Phoenixes!!!
