Sometimes, you can get ahead of yourself. You cheer yourself on and encourage yourself to push a little harder. Sometimes, in your mind you’re ready, but your body is not. Today was one of those days. I was even more sluggish than usual since drinking that stomach wrecking Barium-sulfate w/contrast concoction in the Emergency Room last week. If my stomach is a mess, it wipes me out, if I’m subluxated, I’m exhausted. If my gastritis is acting up, I’m wiped out. There are a lot of things that completely drain me, but this time around, I have not let these things get me down. Since May 14th, I have continued with the exception of three days last week for obvious reasons. Each day going a little longer but still taking it easy so that I can get stronger and be better physically then before.
Today, I screwed myself. I put on some songs that inspired me starting with Army of Me by Bjork, then wrestler Edge’s theme song with lyrics so fitting as I’ve been fighting to begin again…feeling the passion for what I love to do re-ignite again:

So singing these lyrics on the air walk trainer, I went hard and fast during the chorus, then put the song on repeat for one more go and continued the same with the songs that followed, ending with “Back in the Game”, until I completed 30 minutes on the glider! Sounds awesome right? I felt soo proud and elated. I really am kicking ass!!! I stepped off the glider and my legs felt like I ran up a long hill. Okay, no worries, I’ll take it easy next time. Then 1 hour later, I felt instant soreness and slight pain in my left inner thigh with certain movements and the toes on my right foot are protesting….
The disappointment and panic started to set it, and I was able to flip the switch a bit. I had a doctors appointment for that right arm, so I figured let me just shower and get dressed to see how bad it is before I totally panic. The more I moved, the better I felt. I was able to get ready and go to my appointment where at least as far as my arm, the doctor said I’m a LOT better than I was in February from the shoulder impingement which is the only thing left to deal with from an injury that previously consisted of bursitis, tendonitis, bicep tear, and muscle atrophy in addition to that impingement.
After I left I had to walk back a few blocks and I did pass Rockefeller Center where they have a 5-story Titanosaurus promoting the movie Jurassic Park on display. I took a few quick pictures, and walked even more slowly to the train.

I got home, finished work, had dinner, then gave myself a quick massage with some essential oils, so I can now just veg out on couch and enjoy WWE Smackdown with a heating pad on my stomach for the rest of the night.
Not sure what tomorrow will look like pain wise, but I already have plan to do some DDP Bedflex and some arm work if nothing else, to keep those muscles active and working.
Lesson of the day, TAKE IT EASY!! When you’re starting from zero with your body….ff you go hard, make sure the workout is quick. If you plan on a longer workout, go easy. I won’t give up though, because I’m not done owning this half of my life. Until tomorrow.

If I got this, YOU TOTALLY got this my Phoenixes! Carpe Diem!
