Each morning, I look forward to my slightly watered down half cup of espresso with my breakfast or as I like to call it, my morning cup of sunshine, hope and possibilities. The only espresso or coffee I can have is from RAD Coffee which I happened to come across thanks to my former coworker/friend who gifted it to me at Christmas in 2020.
Today, although I woke up positive and raring to go, my routine was thrown off by my stomach. I have been eating that fiber, drinking that water, but the more I exercise, I feel the more I get backed up. My mood changed pretty quickly, my stomach is like Jekyll and Hyde again these days and it has thrown me off. I’m a bit reluctant to admit this, but my foul mood was due to clogged pipes, plus pain and pressure I’ve been getting in my lower back and stomach. IBS is a bitch, gastritis sucks eggs, but a poop-lock? Lord hear me now this is a drag!
To confirm I have pelvic floor disfunction or as I read on google, a hypertonic pelvic floor, I now have to wait until Monday for yet another doctor appointment. For today, I was reluctant to get on the glider and honestly was going to just go to sleep after work with my mood taking a dip, but I got a notification from Amazon that my yoga pad was delivered, and that was just what I needed to get up and get on the mat to do some DDPYOGA. This mat is a lifesaver for My wrists and knees.

I have been wanting to do one of the workouts called Below the Belt, which is a lot of lower body work, but I checked, the app, and I haven’t done this particular workout since September 05, 2023!!! I was soo shocked, I had to look through my workout history again but there it was 2023. A few weeks before that blasted biopsy. Most of 2024, was doing what I could which was bed flex, and the rebuild program when I could.
Well, to my surprise, I WAS able to do this workout with modifications and I finished the 31 minute workout even stronger than before! As soon as I was done I was giddy, and elated. Once I get all these stomach/bladder issues out of the way, it will be even easier to plan my workouts and stretches so I can keep adding a bit more to my routines, so that I can build the muscle that I have always desired to have. I still can’t believe it’s been 1 year and 10 months since I even attempted to do this workout but it just shows, that I truly am on my way to getting my strength back, and being even better than before!
Until tomorrow my Phoenixes, don’t give up and remember, you got this!
