Fitness Check In Day 73

Today was a crazy busy day where I was dragging my body for a good part of the morning, but it turned out to be a triumphant day for me physically.

I took my lunch hour and accompanied my mom to get some groceries quickly and embraced the inspiration to cook a new quick side dish with some veggies that were on sale that I thought may go well together with a few other ingredients.

After work, I decided to wake up the body and did my first DDP since November. This was also my first ever Chair Force workout from the Chair Force Plus program. I could feel the tightness all over and the weakness in my arms but I was able to push through with a few modifications and finished the 16 minute chair workout strong!

A bit after, I cooked the side dish which consisted of asparagus, portobello mushrooms, plums and green Pipián which a squash that originated in parts of Central America like El Salvador as well as in Mexico.

I added some coconut aminos, Himalayan sea salt, kalamata olives and broth and skipjack tuna. It was a lot more delicious than I thought! I was pretty pleased because I have been looking for healthy options that my stomach will tolerate and this one is another one I am adding to my recipe book. (recipe will be posted later this week)

After dinner I joined the weekly Goddess Circle for empowered movement night where Mary who is a stellar yoga teacher, guided us through some wonderfully gentle, but effect and soothing movements and poses.

I felt re-energized and alive afterward. I have not been able to do yoga poses in about 1 year so this felt amazing!

I was starting to get giddy thinking about getting back to the mat soon. I know I have to be patient still, but I do feel the time is coming and I CANNOT WAIT!

Slow and steady wins the race sometimes!! You have to crawl before you can walk and walk before you can jog and jog before you can run.

Today was massive win for me and as I mentioned, I am doing everything I can to get a little bit stronger prior to that colonoscopy so (fingers crossed) I heal from it quicker than the last time so I can get back these little workouts. After all I am looking forward to Comic Con this year again where I already have plans and ideas on what I will be dressing up as for the wrestling meetup and two of my friends and I will be coordinating on a theme. CAN’T WAIT!

Until next time my Phoenixes!!!! Stay active, be kind and gentle with your body and keep going! You got this!
