My last post I mentioned how exhausted I had been and that I was looking forward to the sound bath session I had that night. I was expecting a little bit of energy or something this time, even though I usually just go in expecting just relaxation. To say that this session was a saving grace for me would be an understatement. I could barely lift my legs to walk from sheer exhaustion. I was falling asleep on the train, I was then nodding off on the bus on my way over to the east side and then we walked into the building, I see it’s a third floor walk up! Holy Hanna-Barbera, just the sight of the stairs filled my eyes with tears lol. The stairs leading to the studio looked endless and boy was I winded.
My brother and I entered the studio and I was honestly dizzy and ready to plop anywhere. We saw the instructor whom we haven’t seen in about 2 years and he remembered us. He greeted us warmly and I think I was able to muster a hello and wobbly head nod since I was soo out of it. As soon as we all settled and as soon as he began striking the singing bowls, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. FINALLY, I’m back with the instructor who strikes the bowls in a way I can feel the gentle vibrations through my skull, spine, belly and down to my toes. I did feel a bit restless initially and it took some time to quiet my mind since my body has been fidgety and restless for one month since the whole stomach thing started. I’m not sure at what point I actually began to relax but I did. I wasn’t twitchy anymore, and I was able to embrace the vibrations of the bowls and breathe according to the teacher’s instructions in the class. It was like all the yuckiness of last month was leaving me. When the class was over, I felt like I popped up from the floor with energy and my eyelids weren’t heavy anymore! I thanked the teacher and told him I had been looking for him for a while. I just knew that if I found him again, I’d get the same energy and benefits I had gotten before in his classes.
For the first time in a while, I felt euphoria for life again! That’s really the best way to explain it. (There’s a whole science behind the effectiveness of singing bowls which I am reading up on and researching and hope to write something about this at a later date) I was able to walk briskly down the stairs and stand on the train back home where I actually wolfed down all the food I had for dinner!!! I felt no nausea, or repulsion of the food as I had been feeling for a whole month! I was ecstatic! The sound healing worked even better than I had anticipated. The healing was profound and just what I needed. Since Sunday, I have been able to eat more, raising my calorie intake to about 1353 on Tuesday and a whopping 1713 calories yesterday!!! A big jump from the 1089 I had last Friday! Only problem? The more I eat, the more I go to the bathroom, so there is something going on, and yesterday I got the test results for the parasite Giarda and it was negative which is awesome, but still leaves me in limbo.
On a positive note, I got back to doing DDP Stand Strong I on Wednesday, but I felt super dizzy and wiped out afterward. I spoke with one of the coaches and he said that this most likely is due to the low calorie count I have. If I could up my intake to 1400 at least it may help. I happen to agree, although I also think it is also due to the neck subluxation I’ve been dealing with and going hard on some of the moves like ‘hulk it up’ did not do me any favors because it aggravates that subluxation. Soo today I eased up on engaging soo hard and it helped a lot. I was only mildly dizzy and it went away after I massaged my neck, and trapezius area with the Gaiam Mini Pinpoint Massager which is a must have for me in that area which holds a lot of tension that turns super painful. I was excited to get another Stand Strong I in the books, but as the day progressed my stomach was giving me grief and I was hungry so I had a protein bar I have been eating at night and my stomach afterward was NOT happy. Cue the run to the bathroom, then nausea and exhaustion. Dinner time came and even though I was hungry, I had no desire to eat. I tried and ate a few bites and that was it. I was hoping that the effects of the sound bath would last a bit longer, but I am grateful that they gave me two whole good days and two Meh days which is better than the days I have had up until this point. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? It just may be better with the extra food and exercise.
Next Monday I had a CT scan scheduled for this coming Monday, but I got a call saying they don’t approval from the insurance to do the CT scan, so they will have to reschedule. So again I have to wait for answers as to why I am feeling soo crummy. Comic Con is around the corner (October 8th through October 11th and the excitement I started to have the past few days is starting to wear off a bit. Will I have the energy to walk the 6000 to 10,000 steps I usually walk at the Con? What will I bring with me to eat? The past few years I have been bringing SPAM sandwiches because that is all I could have with no problems but now unless a miracle happens, I don’t really have many options right now. I don’t even know if I am going to get dressed up which is something I plan and look forward to ALL YEAR!!! I have cosplayed almost every year with the exception of I believe 1 or 2 years. I have to say it is the most fun I have all year, as you can see I love getting dressed up for each year for at least 1 day out of the 4 I go to NYCC.

Here’s to hoping I feel better each day and am able to go and enjoy myself as I have each year. I have to wait until next weekend for another sound healing session and in the meantime even though I feel deflated and crappy, I will do my best to keep going and get at least a little bit better with the tools I have on hand so I can make it to the only vacation or staycation in my case, that I have all year.
Until next time my Phoenixes…keep going even if it’s at the pace of a sloth. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other no matter how slow, just keep going!
